Last Days of Summer

I have had so much fun the last few days.  Teachers start back tomorrow.  Thank goodness, I have a zoo pass.  We also went to a "popular" water park.  We ended my summer break by going to a baseball game.

What Is It?
We go to the zoo at least three times each year.  The temperature and gas prices are the only conditions which hold us back. Although we go often, we always see or experience something different.  We have never seen the animal, pictured above (What Is It?).  When my daughter goes, we avoid the chimpanzees. My niece (standing in the jeep) loves giraffes.  The last time that she went with us, she was able to feed the giraffes. My grand-daughter loves dinosaurs.  We have to see the dinosaurs.  The sea lions are entertaining, but I can't wait for the polar bears to return.

This was my grand-daughter's first trip to a water park.  She insisted on staying in "baby water".  Those were her words.  We tried several times to get her on the little slides, but she wouldn't go.  While her mom went to try the big slides, my grand' ventured to the slide on her own.  Oh MY Goodness! That is all she did for the rest of the day.

The company that my brother works for, hosted a get together at a Grasshopper's game.  The food was great and free.  The heat made it uncomfortable for a while, but the breezes were wonderful.  We all had a good time.  The little boy in the "Batter Up" picture is my cousin.  He probably had the most fun.

It's back to reality tomorrow.  I'll have some pictures of some posters and library bulletin boards after our district conference days.  A colleague and I are presenting, so I don't want to give to much information right now.
