New Year's Resolution: Downtime

Amy at Step into 2nd Grade... is hosting the Downtime link up for the "Count Your Blessing and Look Ahead" linky.  With grad school, I doubt that there will be much Downtime for me. If I am fortunate enough to get some downtime, I would like to sew.  I just cut out the pattern pieces for an iPad carrying case. I refuse to buy any more fabric until I use what I already have.  I made my laptop bag, so I'll probably make a matching carrying case.
Mine is the black and gold on the left.
I would also like to do some projects around the house, to get it ready to sell.  First, the ventilation needs to be fixed, so I can redo the bathroom.  I think that new flooring and counter tops for the bathroom and kitchen would add value to my house. Those are the major projects, but there are so many other projects that are overdue.  I wish Property Brothers could give a hard working Teacher/Librarian a hand. LOL!

Now that my grand-daughter is old enough, I would love to do more projects with her.  She always wants to help when I'm cooking, sewing, doing crafts, or homework.  She got an iPad Mini for Christmas, so she can do homework when her mom and I are doing homework.

I'm going to back up a little to the Technology part of this linky.  Although I'm in grad school, and will probably take some technology courses, I would still like to explore creative ways to use technology in the library.  During the NCSLMA (North Carolina School Library Media Association) Conference, I was introduced to using Twitter in the library and Using the Wii in the library, by Jennifer LaGarde (aka Library Girl). I follow several librarians on Twitter, but I guess I need to add that to my "Downtime" resolution, and be more involved. I just need to collaborate with other teachers to get the Wii idea up and running. During another district conference, I learned about creating QR Codes and how they could be used in the classroom.  I plan to use them in the library for book reviews.  I have already used them for promoting the Book Fair.  I would also like to get on Wiki wagon. I have participated in a few Wikis, but never managed one.

I am proud to say that I am a Lifelong Learner.
